MON REPOS
TURTLE ROOKERY

1. TOURS TO MON REPOS
2. SNORKELLING TOURS - POSSIBLE ENCOUNTERS WITH TURTLES

The Mon Repos Turtle Rookery in Bargara is one of those must see places travelers to Queensland have listed as places to see while visiting beautiful south east Queensland in Australia. During the summer breeding season, these giant reptiles are often found resting in the calm waters of the lagoon or under coral ledges foraging for food, but it has been known for some turtles to hang around till autumn (April/May). The Green turtle, Loggerhead turtle are the species most regularly seen by divers and snorkelers. Researchers from the Queensland National Parks and Wildlife Service have been tagging and monitoring the turtles and some turtles tagged here have been found later in the waters of Papua New Guinea. An encounter with sea turtles is something you will never forget. Staying at Bargara Beach offers you the chance to have a wonderful holiday vacation.
